There will be an awareness and fundraising event this Sunday, November 15, to help build a primary school for children and a social enterprise crafts center for women in Afghanistan.

Thedreamfly.org, co-founded by a Harvard Business School alumnae, built their first school in rural Pakistan in 2008. They now have 130 children in the school, over 50% of whom are girls, beaming with energy, promise, and potential, building a new, alternative reality for themselves and their communities.

Dreamfly now needs your support to build our second school in Afghanistan, a country torn by decades of war, conflict and devastation, where the literacy rate is less than 30% (less than 13% if you happen to be female) and where over 7% of the children of the world who’ve never stepped in a school live on less than $2 a day. They hope that you will join hands with them and help the children of Afghanistan build a better future for themselves. Dreamfly is looking to start a primary school as well as a women's community and crafts center where mothers can gain basic education and skills and be gainfully employed. Dreamfly's on-the-ground partners in Afghanistan are Rubiah and Work and WADAN.

All are welcome! If you have an interest in efforts around education and Social Enterprise, please join us for the opportunity to connect, share ideas, and join hands. The event will be an informative and fun get-together with authentic Afghani food, live music, and crafts, as well as lots of organized networking opportunities.

Registration is free, but please RSVP by clicking here.
